This is only a Test

Thought this was a very interesting story.  We in this country tend to put in the spotlight sports stars, TV actors, and famous Hollywood Stars.  Before education was put in the hands of the unions, we also valued good grades and graduating from high school.  Our numbers are down across the world in math and science.  Some are asking our government to create more jobs.  Well creating is one thing but having the highly educated working forces to perform them is another question...........

More than 5,000 students gathered at Maotanchang High School, East China's Anhui province on June 5, 2012, and headed for Lu'an city to take the national college entrance exam, or gaokao. Tens of thousands of teachers and parents from Maotanchang township saw them off at the school.

The school transports the students to Lu'an city, 70 kilometers away, with 52 buses, escorted by four police vehicles. All the students arrived safely at the destination before 3 pm. The custom of seeing off students to gaokao has grown into a festive event. Every June 5, residents in Maotanchang township gather and see off their children who are taking the national college entrance exam, or gaokao.
