Privatizing golf courses.............it's a good thing Update

Salem's 77-year-old Olde Salem Greens will cede city control to private management under a measure narrowly approved by the Park and Recreation Committee, the Salem News reports.
The committee voted 3-2 to sign a five-year lease with Golf Facilities Management Inc. of North Reading, which operates several 18-hole courses in the area, the Salem News reports.


                When the city of Peabody stops picking apples and baking pies.............I will also let you know.

Asparagus growers may see some green

Asparagus growers in western Massachusetts may be getting some financial relief from the federal government to compensate them for revenue lost to foreign growers, the Republican reports.
As the Republican reports, the U.S. Department of Agriculture is making $15 million in compensation available to asparagus growers throughout the country for market losses from 2004 to 2007.

             Again, this government is so big and so bloated.  Is there nothing that it does not control or want to control?  Can we stop subsidizing SOMETHING and just level the playing field?
