Permission from the Government to Grow a Potato

Just when you thought it could not get any worse, a politician pops up with a new rule, regulation or law to make life even harder than it is in the age of Obama and bigger and intrusive government.  Who hasn't, in days gone by, shared with their neighbor the tomato or cucumber crop that takes over the garden at the end of the growing season? If we do not stop this foolishness, my guess is that cameras will soon be mandatory in every back yard garden located right next to the homemade scarecrow.

Senate bill makes it illegal to grow, sell, share or trade homegrown food

“If people let the government decide what foods they eat and what medicines they take, their bodies will soon be in as sorry a state as are the souls of those who live under tyranny.”
~Thomas Jefferson, 1778

  1. Unbelievable!
I thought people will be encouraged to go back to self-reliance and grow their own food.

  2. We are landowners in this country. The government needs to stick to the limits of the Constitution.

  3. Recently we had a fella here in Georgia who came under fire from big gov for growing a garden. They tried to get him for violating zoning laws.

Franly, I see this as a way to force us to be dependent on both big gov and big business - are in cahoots with each other.
