The Most Expensive School in Massachusetts

It's not exactly your average back-to-school story in Newton, Massachusetts this week.
It's Senior Sneak Peak Day at Newton North High School. And, at $200 million, it is the most expensive school in the state.
Dedication ceremonies were held this morning.
The new school features an art complex and athletic wing, with a swimming pool and climbing wall.
The state contributed about $40 million to the project.
The most expensive high school in the country is in Los Angeles.

Is this a new private hospital, manufacturing facility?  No, this is the new high school that was built with tax money, by unions, and by the lowest bidder by law.  I am sure the kids in Newton will become much smarter than their parents who felt the need for this expense in such recessionary times.  We will check back in a year or two to see the repairs and the tax increases needed to keep up and not be out done by Los Angeles.
