Taking schools into their own hands:
Well that's well and good but why not take schools out of all political hands and privatize all schools. Just think of the possibilities; good teachers, dress codes, achievement merits, music, sports, dodge ball, and all this would cost less per student that it costs us now and as an added bonus bad teachers could and would be fired.

This is the best solution to the problem with public schools. The government needs to let the money for each student follow the student. If they go to a private school, that is where the money should go. Pretty soon, the public schools would see their teachers flocking to the private sector!
