New U.S. claims for unemployment benefits rose more than expected last week as harsh weather conditions in some parts of the country kept workers at home and caused a backlog in the rocessing of claims, a government report showed on Thursday.
Soon many public employees will be out of a job and in line with those in the private sector.
Blaming winter weather for (yet another in a chain of) jobless surges means that as soon as the weather clears, we should see that trend reversed. Does anybody want to make a bet with me?
