Prelude: Mayo Clinic to Stop Treating Some Medicare Patients

This is just the beginning of Obamacare. Why do some on the hill think that this reform is not going to cost more money and also will cause rationing of services. It just makes sense: fewer hospitals, fewer doctors, fewer services. This is the plan for the public option.....pass this crappy bill and we can play with it later. Good grief, I need an aspirin!!

  1. My soon-to-be ex is an Orthopedic Surgeon. He can't afford to see many Medicare patients. I wonder how he will handle further Medicare cuts. Luckily, Medicare was a small portion of his practice to begin with. I can't imagine how docs who see more elderly will continue paying their overhead and malpractice premiums, which they will NOT get a break on, because there is no tort reform.

  2. Forgot to mention, if this continues, you may see an offshore black market for health care. Rich elderly will get the care they need in a timely manner. Congressional Fat Cats too. Just regular people will be stuck with the Obamacare system. :-(

  3. Opus..

Strike the rich elderly from the list. Because of the recession of the last three years, fewer have been able to retire and are living on dwindling savings. And what of the doctor and his family? He studied hard and long to become a doctor, and to help all who needed it. If you think health care is expensive now, wait till the government makes it free. Thanks for stopping by and good luck in the new year..
