Muslim civil liberties group ask for probe on face-covering ban

This face covering issues has been in the news before. Does the college or a state have the right to ban face coverings and veils? How do we handle a picture on a drivers license or passport?
I see some of this as a safety issue and not a slap at the Muslim community. Is there an alternative to go to a Muslim university as to not have this become an issue. I think when in America and on an American college, as in life, rules must be set.
